I work with people over 18 with wide range of difficulties - some of these are outlined in the box. I also work with people whose struggles do not fit easily into any of these categories or fit several - please feel free to contact me to discuss.

To start we would usually arrange a  free call of up to 15 mins to check that I can help and so you can ask any questions you may have. We would then arrange an assessment which (almost always) leads onto treatment.

At the assessment we would discuss in more detail your goals and how we might work on them. It involves talking about how life is now, understanding your past and any significant events in it, and getting a picture of your life more generally. This helps me get a clearer picture of you, how we could work together and what the focus would be.

We will also develop an informal 'contract' which means how many sessions we are going to work for before we review our work. I work with people for varied amounts of time. Occasionally people have found 1 or 2 sessions are enough to gain a different perspective. Most  often, treatment lasts about 16 sessions. I also work with people for longer period of time when this is helpful or needed. We discuss potential time-frames at the assessment. I am also used to working with insurance companies who often fund a specific number of sessions.

The assessment then leads onto lead into active treatment. We decide what approach to use and focus on moving towards your goals. There are usually insights and new ways of looking at things in the course of therapy, as well as ideas to put into practice outside of our sessions.

We will review our work regularly to ensure that we are on track and to consider when to end.

I regularly work with people insured by Bupa and Aviva and am open to working with any insurance company.

Assessment and treatment sessions are 1 hour long and the fee is £110. Preferable method of payment is by bank transfer on the day of the appointment, though I also accept cash and cheques. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are charged at the full rate.
